WHEREAS, it appears to this City Council that it would be
in the best interest of the City to make certain improvements
land extensions to the City's electric light and power system
,hand it is now proper for this Council to give notice of 'intention
to issue revenue bonds in order to provide for such facilities
;j'in the time,, form and manner provided by law; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK,
TEXAS
SECTION 1: That the City Manager is hereby authorized
and directed cause notice to be published of this Co�uncil's
�jintention to meet on the 23rd day of April, 1981 at `"-qc)
o'clock_.M. to pass an ordinance(on first reading)an take
j,such action as will be necessary to authorize the issuance of
,revenue bonds in the total principal amount of $9,000,000 for
j;,tne purpose of providing funds for making improvements and
extensions to the City's electric light and power system, i.e.
'improvements and extensions to the transmission and distribution
',facilities. The notice to be published (the form and content
of which is hereby approved) shall be substantially in the form
''set forth as an exhibit to this Resolution.. The City Council
=also proposes to pass the said ordinance on second and final
,!reading at a meeting of the Council to be held on April 24, 1981.
SECTION 2: That such notice shall be"published once a
weekoar two consecutive weeks in'a newspaper published and having
;general circulation in the City of Lubbock, Texas, the date of
'the first publication of such notice to be at least fourteen (14)
:days prior to the date stated in said notice for the passage of
the ordinance authorizing the issuance of the revenue bonds.
SECTION 3: That this resolution shall take effect and
be inorce immediately from and after its passage.

NOTICE OF INTENTION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK,
TEXAS, TO ISSUE REVENUE BONDS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of
Lubbock, Texas, will convene at its regular meeting place in the
City Hall of Lubbock, Texas, at ,3D o clock 19. M. on
the 23rd day of April, 1981, to pass an ordinance (on--Hrst
;reading) and take such action as may be deemed necessary to
authorize, in one or more 'installments or series, the issuance of
.revenue bonds in the aggregate principal amount of $9,000,000 to
(provide funds for making improvements and extensions to the
City's electric light and power system, i.e. improvements and
extensions to the transmission and distribution facilities. Such
bonds shall mature not later than December 31, 2003; shall bear
interest at such rate or rates (not to exceed 10% per annum.) as
{'ishall be determined within the discretion of the City Council
,at the time of issuance and said bonds shall be payable from
and secured by a lien on and pledge of the net revenues of the
'City's electric light and power system. The City Council also
..:,proposes to pass the said ordinance on second and final reading
at a meeting to be held on April 24, 1981.
The holder of such bonds shall never have the right to demand
payment out of any funds raised or to be raised by taxation and
said bonds shall not be a debt of the City of Lubbock, Texas.
This notice is issued pursuant to authority and direction
of the City Council of the City of Lubbock, Texas, this the 26th
day of March, 1981.

was introduced and submitted to the Council for passage and
adoption. After presentation and due consideration of the
resolution, a motion was made by Councilwoman Joan Baker that
the resolution be finally passed and adopted. The motion was
seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Alan Henry and carried by the following
vote:
5 voted "FOR 0 voted "AGAINST" 0 abstained
all as shown in the official Minutes of"the Council for the
jmeeting held on the aforesaid. date.
2, That the attached resolution is a true and .correct
copy of the original on file in the official records of the
City; the duly qualified and acting members of the City Council
of said City on the date of the aforesaid meeting are those
persons shown above arid, according to the records of my office,
each member of the Council was given actual notice of the time,
place and purpose of the meeting and had actual notice that the
matter would be considered; and that said meeting, and deliberation
of the aforesaid public business, was open to the public and
