HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 820 - Set Public Hearing- Amended Urban Renewal Plan- CD Rehab/Redevelopment Area #26 - 06/18/1981SMH'pc RESOLUTION #820 — 6/18/811 RF.SnTJTTTnN RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR MEETING OF AND PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK CONCERNING THE AMENDING OF THE PROPOSED LAND USE MAP OF THE AMENDED URBAN RENEWAL PLAN FOR THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT REHABILITATION AND REDEVELOPMENT AREA NUMBER 26; AND PROVIDING FOR NOTICE OF SUCH MEETING AND HEARING. WHEREAS, the Urban Renewal Law of the State of Texas permits the modifi- cation of an Urban Renewal Plan at any time provided if such modification affects the land use, among other plan elements, then much modification shall not be made until it has been submitted to the Planning and Zoning Commission and to the Urban Renewal Agency and a report rendered to the City Council for reviewing and proceeding with a public hearing; and WHEREAS, a proposed land use plan amendment to the amended Urban Renewal Plan for the Community Development Rehabilitation and Redevelopment Area Number 26, dated September 22, 1977, as approved and adopted by the City's governing body on November 17, 1977, was reviewed and approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission on June .9, 1981, and by the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Lubbock on May 19, 1981, and recommendations were made to the City Council; and WHEREAS, said proposed amendment and recommendations have been reviewed by the City Council of the City of Lubbock; and WHEREAS, it is the purpose and intent of the City Council of the City of Lubbock, on this date and at this time and place specified in the form of notice contained in Section 1 hereof, to hold a public hearing on the question of adopting a resolution to approve and adopt the proposed amendment to said Urban Renewal Plan substantially in the form of resolution set forth in the form of notice; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the following notice is hereby ordered to be pub- lished by the City Council of the City of Lubbock said notice to be published in the June 21, 1981, the June 28, 1981 and the July 5, 1981, issues of the Lubbock Avalanche -Journal (the official newspaper of the City of Lubbock) sai notice to be in the following form, to -wit: "NOTICE OF MEETING OF AND PUBLIC HEARING BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK CONCERNING THE AMENDMENT OF THE AMENDED URBAN RENEWAL PLAN FO' THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT REHABILITATION AND DEVELOPMENT AREA NUMBER 26. Pursuant to the provisions of the Urban Renewal Law of the State of Texas, notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Lubbock will meet at the City Hall in the City Council Chamber on the 23rd day of July, 1981 at 10' o'clock a.m. C.D.T. at which time and place of said Council will conduct a public hearing on the question of, and will consider and determine whether or not it will amend the amended Urban Renewal Plan for the Community Development Rehabilitation and Redevelopment Area Number 26 by passing a resolution substantially a follows: 'RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING A LAND USE PLAN AMENDMENT TO THE AMENDED URBAN RENEWAL PLAN FOR THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT REHABILITA AND REDEVELOPMENT AREA NUMBER 26; WHEREAS, the proposed land use map revision in the amended Urban Renewal Plan for the Community Development Rehabilitation and Redevelopment Area Number 26, as hereinafter set forth, has been reviewed by and approved by the planning and zoning commission of the City of Lubbock and by the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Lubbock; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the land use amendment as set forth on a map attached hereto and made a part hereof, entitled "Proposed Land Use Map, Exhibit URP-II of the Community Development Rehabilitation and Redevelopment Area Number 26", and designated herewith as Exhibit A to this Resolution, be and is hereby approved and adopted.' j At the aforesaid public hearing, each person will be given full opportuni to be heard, either in person or by his counsel, relative to the subject being considered, and likewise to present to and file with the City Council for its consideration, his written comments and recommendations relative to the subject." The City Council shall meet on the date and at the time and place specified in the form of notice contained in Section 1 hereof and shall then and there hold a public hearing to consider and determine if it should adopt a resolution substantially in the form set forth in said form of notice.
