RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the Mayor of the City of-Lubbock BE and is hereby authorized and
directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock four contracts
with the National Academy for Police Driving of Lancaster, Texas, one contract
is for a Police Instructor Course, total contract charges being $8,850.00; the
second contract is for a Fire Instructor Course, total contract charges being
$1,915.00; the third contract is for a Light Truck and Van Instructor Course,
total contract charges being $2,950.00; and the fourth contract is for a Sani-
tation Truck Instructor Course, total contract charges being $1,460.00, which
contracts attached herewith which shall be spread upon the minutes of the
Council and as spread upon the minutes of this Council shall constitute and be
a part of this Resolution as if fully copied herein in detail.

This agreement entered into this 26th day of August - -- 19-81) —.,-
by and between the Police Division of National Academy for
Police Driving of Lancaster, Texas (hereinafter called the "Contractor") and the
City of Lubbock, Texas (hereinafter called "Client").
Introduction
Whereas, Contractor has acquired unique experience, special skills, techniques, and knowledge in the
development and teaching of specialized forms of driver education, and has devised a standard, unique, and
uniform system, known to both parties of this agreement, and
Whereas, Contractor has developed a duly recognized logotype, and thus has the sole and exclusive right to
the goodwill connected with the logotype, and programs and systems used in providing its services, and
Whereas, all of the foregoing have distinctive and valuable significance to the public, and Client recognizing
same desires to make use of and enjoy the commercial benefits by conducting business with said Contractor,
Now, therefore, the parties mutually agree as follows:
1. Employment of Contractor. The Client agrees to engage the Contractor and the Contractor hereby agrees
to perform the services hereinafter set forth.
2. Scope of Services. The Contractor, as an independent organization and in connection and cooperation
with the Client, shall, within time and fund restraints hereinafter stated, perform and carry out, in a
professional manner, the services described as follows:
Article 1. Services to be rendered by Contractor
Police Instructor Course for three students, which includes: tuition,
one set of overhead transparencies; one set of simulators (2); three
instructor manuals; and 100 student training packets.
Article 11. Time and Performance
A. Number and Length of Courses One - Eighty Hours (Ten days)
B. Consisting of 36 hours of Classroom and 44 - hours of Track Instruction for a total of
_80 hours of instruction.
C. Date, Time, and Location of Services October 11, through October 23, 1982;
8.00 a m to 5:00 p.m.: Lubbock, Texas.
D. Number of Students 3 of 6
E. Rate per Student $2, 500.00 for a total Student Fee of $7,500.00
F. Additional Charges Equipment & Training Packets $1,350.00
G. Total Contract Charges $8 850.00
Article III. Payment Schedule
The Client agrees to pay the Contractor for services and/or materials as described herein in Dallas,
Dallas County Texas as follows:
Full payment of total contract charges immediately upon completion
of service.
This agreement constitutes the entire Contracf'betWeen the Contractor and theClient-and no verbal
assurances or promises not contained herein shall bind the Contractor or the Client.
In witness whereof the Client and the Contractor have executed this agreement as of the date first above
