RESOLUTION 1665-A - 4/26/84
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock finds that the land
hereinafter described is needed for public purposes, to -wit: for the
widening of North Quaker Avenue; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the Right -of -Way Department of the City of Lubbock is
hereby authorized and directed to make an offer on behalf of the City of
Lubbock in the amount of $1499 to Perry Harrison Construction, Inc., (as
owner) for the purchase by the City of two tracts of land to be used as set
forth in the preamble hereof and described as follows:
TRACT ONE
A parcel of land located in Section 5, Block J -S, Lubbock County,
Texas, being a portion of the tract conveyed to Ronald Elzie Kil-
patrick and Jeanette Kilpatrick in Volume 1357, Page 383 of the Deed
Records of Lubbock County, Texas, and being more particularly des-
cribed as follows:
BEGINNING at a set 60 penny nail which bears S. 00°06152" E. a
distance of 150 feet from the Northeast corner of Section 5, Block
J -S, Lubbock County, Texas, said point being the Northeast corner of
said Kilpatrick tract for the Northeast corner of this tract;
THENCE S. 00006152" E., along the East line of Section 5, and along
the East line of said Kilpatrick tract, a distance of 60.00 feet to a
60 penny nail set in the East line of said Section 5 and Southeast
corner of said Kilpatrick tract and for the Southeast corner of this
tract;
THENCE West, along the South line of said Kilpatrick tract, a distance
of 40.00 feet to a 1/2" iron rod set for the Southwest corner of this
tract;
THENCE N. 00006152" W. a distance of 60.00 feet to a 1/2" iron rod set
in the North line of said Kilpatrick tract, for the Northwest corner
of this tract;
THENCE East, along the North line of said Kilpatrick tract, a distance
of 40.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
TRACT TWO
BEGINNING at a point in the North Boundary Line of Section 5, Block
J -S, Lubbock County, Texas, 225 feet West of the Northeast corner of
Section 5;
THENCE South 55 feet;
THENCE West 75 feet;
THENCE North 55 feet;
THENCE East 75 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. THAT said purchase is to be accomplished by the Right -of -
Way Department.
