RESOLUTION 1644 - 4/12/84
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock finds that the land
hereinafter described is needed for public purposes, to -wit: for the
widening of North Quaker Avenue; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the Right -of. -Way Department of the City of Lubbock is
hereby authorized and directed to make an offer on behalf of the City of
Lubbock in the amount of $13,344 to Charles Griffin and Anne Griffin (as
owners) for the purchase by the City of a tract of land to be used as set
forth in the preamble hereof and described as follows:
A parcel of land located in Section 13, Block A, Lubbock County,
Texas, being a portion of the tract conveyed to the said Charles
Griffin and Anne Griffin in Volume 1691, Page 309 of the Deed Records
of Lubbock County, Texas, and being more particularly described as
follows:
BEGINNING at a 1/2" iron rod with cap found at the Southwest corner of
Section 13, Block A, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE N. 00003110" W., along the West line of Section 13, and along
the West line of said Griffin tract a distance of 669.47 feet to a
point for the Northwest corner of this tract;
THENCE N. 59°40117" E., along the Southwesterly right-of-way line of
U.S. Highway No. 84, a distance of 68.32 feet to a point for the
Northwest corner of this tract;
THENCE S. 00003110" E. a distance of 283.97 feet to a set 60 penny
nail;
THENCE S. 01°33111" E. a distance of 345.93 feet to a 1/2" iron rod
set for a point of curvature;
THENCE Southeasterly around a curve to the left, said curve having a
radius of 30.0 feet, a central angle of 88°26149", tangent lengths of
29.20 feet and a chord distance of 41.85 feet to a 1/2" iron rod set
for a point of tangency;
THENCE East a distance of 12.17 feet to a point for a corner of this
tract;
THENCE South a distance of 45.00 feet to a 60 penny nail set in the
South line of Section 13 for a corner of this tract;
THENCE West, along the South line of Section 13, and the South line of
said Griffin tract, a distance of 110.15 feet to the POINT OF BEGIN-
NING.
SECTION 2. THAT said purchase is to be accomplished by the Right -
of -Way Department.
