RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock has grown to an estimated population of
1879629 as of January 1, 1985; and
WHEREAS, the boundaries of the City of Lubbock have changed exten-
sively due to recent annexations; and
WHEREAS, the best interests of the citizens of Lubbock would be served
by accurate boundary and population signs on the State and Federal roads
entering the City of Lubbock; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the Council of the City of Lubbock requests the Texas State
Department of Highways and Public Transportation to place accurate boundary
and population signs adjacent to the State and Federal roads entering the
City of Lubbock.
Passed by the City Council this 24th day of January 1 , 1985.
