HW:cl Resolution #2007 April 25, 1985 Agenda Item #28 RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock BE and is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock a Change Order No. 1 to a contract previously entered into by and between said City and Lee Lewis Contractor for expansion of the Lubbock International Airport Terminal, attached herewith, which shall be spread upon the minutes of the Council and as spread upon the minutes of this Council shall constitute and be a part of this Resolution as if fully copied herein in detail. Passed by the City Council this 25th day of April , 1985. The above referenced project bid to the owner May '31, 1984 and contract was executed June 14, 1984. At the execution of the contract, per- formance and payment bonds were furnished and insurances were put into effect. At the time of bidding we anticipated starting construction on or before August. 1, 1984 as indicated in the bidding documents. _ On September 4, 1984 we received a formal Notice to Proceed; however, at that time, we could stili not proceed. As of this date, we are stili unable -- to proceed with the construction of the terminal.. We have been unable to start construction due to the occupation of the site by _Marecon, Inc., the owner's contractor for apron improvements. We request compensation of job overhead expenses from August 1, 1984 to a date established that construction can proceed. Compensation re- quested is Two Hundred Thirty. Five Dollars ($235.00) per calendar day which we are unable to begin. Time extension requested shall be from the date of formai notice to proceed to such date we are able to start work. Please consider compensation requested is pure job overhead _ expenses and does not take into account . two (2) months of excellent weather which have been lost, a very severe loss to a structural concrete - project.
