HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2004 - Revise Compensation Schedule - HDR Inc - Quirt Ave Bridge Project - 04/25/1985JWF:rm RFg0I I IT ION Resolution #2004 April 25, 1985 Agenda Item #20 WHEREAS, In a Letter of Agreement dated November 8, 1984 executed by Henningson, Durham b Richardson, Inc., Engineers, herein called "Engineers" and the City of Lubbock, herein called "City", Engineers and City made certain agreements related to engineering services to be furnished by Engineers and Compensation to be paid by City to Engineers for such services; and, WHEREAS, it was provided in Section B of said Agreement that a Compensation Schedule as shown In said Section B was subject to revision after December 31, 1984; and, WHEREAS, Engineers have requested a revision of said compensation schedule for hourly billings covering the period from January 1, 1985 through December 31, 1985 (Inclusive) as set forth In a letter of request for such revisions to the City dated March 25, 1985, a copy of which letter Is attached to this Resolution and made a part hereof as "Exhibit All; and, WHEREAS, after due consideration of the revisions of hourly compensation requested by Engineers, the City Council for the City hereby determines that such request is reasonable and should be granted; NOW THEREFORE: SECTION 1. That the revisions as shown in said Exhibit A In Hourly Compensation to be paid by City to Engineers as requested by Engineers Is hereby In all things approved. SECTION 2. That said Schedule of Hourly Compensation as hereby revised shall be subject to further revisions after December 31, 1985 as set forth in said Exhibit A. y PASSED THIS 25th DAY OF April 19 85 . Box 2000 Lubbock, Texas 79457 Attn: Mr. Jim Bertram Assistant City Manager Gentlemen, Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Trejo: In accordance with our Letter of Agreement dated November 8, 1984 for Engineering Services related to the Quirt Avenue Bridge project, our Compensation Schedule for special services rendered after December 31, 1984, is subject to revision. Revision of our billing rates is necessitated because of increases in direct salaries incurred since December 31, 1984 as well as increases in our cost of providing benefits to our employees (vacation, holiday, health insurance, pension etc.). Specifically, our proposed rates reflect average increases of approximately 4% for most personnel categories. The rate for the Resident Project Representative, being provided by our associate Parkhill, Smith and Cooper, Inc., has been increased to the level of their normal billing rate for Mr. Bob Field, Resident Project Representative Architecture for the Quirt Avenue project. Engineering Planning Systems Tabulated below are our proposed revised hourly biling rates for Sciences the period January 1, 1985 through December 31, 1985. The following compensation schedule is subject to revision for Alexandria services required after December 31, 1985. Austin Baton Rouge Firm Principal $90.00 per hour BostonProject Charlotte Manager $69.00 per hour Chicago Project Engineer $67.00 per hour Dallas Denver Design Engineer $62.00 per hour Gillette Engineer-in-Training $41.00 per hour Grand Junction Engineering Technician $38.00 per hour Indianapolis Draftsman III & IV $32.00/$36.00 per hour Minneapolis Draftsman I & II $25.00/$29.00 per hour Norfolk Typist $24.00 per hour Omaha Orlando Resident Project Representative $36.00 per hour Pensacola Resident Structural Project Representative $64.00 per hour Phoenix St. Petersburg San Francisco Seattle Texarkana Torrington White Plaine EXHIBIT City of Lubbock March 25, 1985 Page Two Subcontract Expense: (Reimbursable Expense) Parkhill, Smith & Cooper, Inc., Project Manager/Firm Principal $70.80 per hour Project Engineer $62.25 per hour Design Engineer $44.10 per hour Engineer -in -Training $35.95 per hour Chief Draftsman $34.85 per hour Draftsman $25.05 per hour Typist $22.30 per hour Resident Project Representative $36.50 per hour Reimbursable Expense, including but not limited to subcontract expense, travel, per diem, printing, telephone and computer processing, etc. At cost plus 15% Partial payments for the above services shall be made monthly, by the City, in accordance with Section VI, Paragraph A of our contract, dated May 28, 1983, upon presentation of monthly statements by MDR for such services. We are submitting this request in six (6) copies. Approval of this request shall constitute authorization by the City of Lubbock for HDR to provide engineering services and be compensated in accordance with the Schedule of Hourly Compensation as provided herein. If this request meets with your approval, please execute all copies in the space provided below and return three copies to this office. We certainly appreciate the privilege of providing engineering services to the City -of Lubbock and respectfully request your consideration and approval of our proposed compensation schedule revisions covering the period from January 1, 1985 through December 31, 1985 (inclusive). Should you have any questions with regard to the above information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
