HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2142 - Contract - Kerr Construction - Southwest General Avation Site Development, LIA - 09/12/1985MH:js RESOLUTION Resolution #2142 September 12, 1985 Agenda Item #38 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock BE and is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock a Contract by and between the City of Lubbock and Kerr Construction Company for Southwest General Aviation Site Development, attached herewith, which shall be spread upon the minutes of the Council and as spread upon the minutes of this Council shall constitute and be a part of this Resolution as if fully copied herein in detail. The authorization of the execution of the Contract is contingent upon and subject to an agreement by Kerr Construc- tion Company to execute the Change Order immediately after commencement of work. Box 888 Lubbock, Texas 79408 General description of work included in contract: The construction or strengthening of approximately 42,500 square yards of flexible pavement on taxiways and construction of approximately 30,700 square yards of flexible pavement on roadways, reconstruction of existing apron pavement, removal of existing pavement, construction of approximately 17,600 linear feet of curb and gutter, construction of drainage structures, excavation work, installation of taxiway edge lighting, installation of water and sewer lines, marking of taxiways and roads, installation of security fencing, and other related items of work. In order to bring the project cost within the available funding the Contractor has proposed adjustments to certain unit prices, the original PROPOSAL shall be modified to include those adjustments. A modified PROPOSAL is attached hereto and bid items that have been adjusted are noted with an *. A net reduction of $113,370.82 results from the proposed modifications. The estimated quan- tities and specified materials remain unchanged for all bid items except for Items No. 58 and 67. The quantity of fencing in Item No. 58 shall be reduced to 5,526 L.F. with no change in the unit price. The material spe- cified for irrigation pipe in Item No. 67 shall be changed. Instead of the ductile iron pipe specified, the irrigation pipe and fittings shall be PVC pipe and fittings manufactured from PVC Material 12454-B as specified in ASTM D 1784, and shall be SDR 26 as specified in ASTM D 2241. When the existing irrigation line is removed, the new irrigation line shall be CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 Page 1 of 18 w - , installed in the same location. Installation of the irrigation pipe shall be in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and the installation shall be complete and ready for use by January 1, 1986. The aforementioned changes, and work affected thereby, are subject to all contract stipulations and covenants.
