HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2397 - Extension Of Water & Sewer Service - Carlisle Community - Without Deposit - 08/14/1986LJM: da RESOLUTION Resolution x#2397 August 14, 1986 Agenda Item #38 WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock annexed an area west of the City, commonly known as the "Carlisle Community" by Ordinance No. 8660, effective on December 27, 1984; and WHEREAS, there was substantial existing development in that area at the time of annexation; and WHEREAS, many of the existing water and sewer systems in the area are substandard; and WHEREAS, these substandard or non -existing water and sewer systems have been shown to constitute an extremely unhealthful condition to this densely populated area; and WHEREAS, the extension of water and sewer service is necessary to correct these extremely unhealthful conditions; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT due to the extremely unhealthful conditions which we find to exist in the densely populated area formerly known as the "Carlisle Community" and being further described as follows: BEGINNING at a point being the Northeast corner of Block AK, Section 42, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE north 750 feet to a point; THENCE west 2640 feet to a point; THENCE south 750 feet to a point; THENCE east 750 feet to a point; THENCE south 2640 feet to a point; THENCE east 1890 feet to a point; THENCE north 2640 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. we hereby authorize the use of all available means to address this condition, if funds are available for such purpose, including the extension of water and sanitary sewer mains into said area without a deposit being required from the requesting property owner, pursuant to Sec. 28-163 of the Lubbock City Code, provided, however, that when lines are extended the property owner shall be required to pay the pro rata charges established when such property is connected to the water and sewer main, and including the provision of water and sewer service from the street pursuant to Ordinance No. 8954 Passed by the City Council this 14th day of ATTEST: , City S APPROVED AS TO CONTENT: r' Sam Wahl, Director of Water Utilities APPROVED AS TO FORM: Laura Monro"ssistant City Attorne -2- August , 1986.
