City of Lubbock, CA -5-76-34, (Federal District Court --Northern District of Texas, 1983), requires that the City Councilmembers elect a mayor pro tem from among its members at the first regular City Council meeting following election and qualification of its members; and WHEREAS, all members of the City Council have now been elected and qualified; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT JOAN BAKER is elected mayor pro tem of the Lubbock City Council until such time as a successor may be elected and qualified.
