BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock BE and is hereby authorized and
directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock a Contract
with Panhandle Construction Company for water system improvements to the
distribution main between 32nd Street and 98th Street on Avenue P, attached
herewith, which shall be spread upon the minutes of the Council and as
spread upon the minutes of this Council shall constitute acid be a part of
this Resolution as fully copied herein in detail.

WITNESSETH: That for and in consideration of thePayments

hereinafter mentioned, to be made and performed by the OWNER and underatheements
conditions expressed in the bond bearing even date herewith (if any) the CON-
TRACTOR hereby agrees with OWNER to commence and complete the construction of
certain improvements described as follows:

and all extra work in connection therewith, under the terms as stated in the
contract documents and at his (or their) own

all materials, supplies, machinery, equipment, tools, superintendence, labor,sh

construction in accordance with the contract documents as

The CONTRACTOR hereby agrees to commence work within ten days after the
date written notice to do so shall have been given to him and to substantially
complete same within the time specified in the contract documents.
The OWNER agrees to pay the CO:;TR.yCTOR in current funds for the
mance of the contract in accordance with the proposal submitted therefor,or
subject to additions and deductions, as provided in the contract documents and
to make payment on account hereof as provided therein.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties to these presents have executed this
agreement in the year and day first above written.

WHEREAS, it is desirable to make changes in the plans and specifications
for this project;
THIS AGREEMENT WITNESSETH: In consideration of the mutual advantages
gained, the Owner and the Contractor agree to the change shown herein and in
the attached exhibits and data and the Owner and the Contractor agree that the
original contract between them shall be modified and amended to the extent
herein indicated.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Owner and the Contractor have hereto set their
hands this the 30th day of April, 1986.

Explanation of Change
Hauling sand from sanitary landfill to job site in Atzlan Park replacing undesir-
able backfill for approximately 5 feet above top of pipe as needed, including
hauling large pieces of concrete from job site to sanitary landfill.
Breakdown of Change
663 yd3 of sand @ $4.00/yd3 = $2,652.00
663 yd3 of large concrete @ $12.00/yd = $7,956.00
Net amount due to extra hauling = $10,608.00
Cost of actual work included on
proposal = $638,669.05
Actual cost of project = $649,277.05
Original amount of Contract = $660,378.60
Less actual cost of project = $649,277.05
Amount of Change = (-$11,101.55)
Completion date this project November 23, 1985
Project was completed January 16, 1986
Amount of days past completion date = 54 days
10 days were recorded in fieldbook as work
missed due to bad weather
Construction in Atzlan Park was slowed considerably due to more large pieces of
concrete than was anticipated. Progress in Atzlan Park slowed from an average
of 75 feet per day to approximately 30 feet per day. Therefore, extra days con-
sidered due to junk in park = 960 ft. = 21 days
75 ft. - 30 ft./day
Work missed due to bad weather = 10 days
Additional time due to junk in Atzlan = 21 days
Holidays = 3 days
Additional time requested due to the
water table rising after rains = 20 days
