Grant Proposal Evaluation
I. State, as clearly as possible, the goals and objectives of the proposed
project. The purpose of the School Resource Officer Program is to let
youngsters meet police officers in a personal, relaxed and unofficial
atmosphere. By building rapport in this manner, it is hoped that the
youngsters will develop a better understanding of the police, will develop
positive attitudes about the law and their role in the law, and learn that
the police are not only enforcers of the law, but friends as well.
A. Is this the fulfillment of an identifiable community goal? If so,
list source.
The goal of the project is to improve the citizenship of youngsters,
both now and in the future.
B. Is this the fulfillment of an identifiable community need? If so,
please provide quantifiable data (studies, etc.).
Improved citizenship will help reduce juvenile crime, which affects
the quality of life in the whole community.
