S JCR:da RESOLUTION #2610 WHEREAS, resident voters of a territory, a portion of which is within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Lubbock, have proposed incorporating such territory into a town or village known as Village of Buffalo Springs; and WHEREAS, the consent of the City of Lubbock to such incorporation is required insofar as the portion of the territory which lies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Lubbock is concerned; and WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock desires to maintain control and exercise its limited sovereignty wherein the extraterritorial jurisdiction as it exists currently save and except that area to be incorporated; and WHEREAS, the consent of the City of Lubbock is elemental and germane to the proper and legal incorporation of the area proposed to be incor- porated as the City of Buffalo Springs Lake; and WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock desires its consent to be conditional retaining unto itself all the extraterritorial jurisdiction as heretofore mentioned; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the City of Lubbock does hereby consent to the incorporation proceedings of that portion of the territory shown on Exhibit A attached to this resolution and made a part hereof. However, such consent is condi- tional upon the City of Lubbock retaining all of the extraterritorial jurisdiction shown on Exhibit B and colored in yellow surrounding the territory entitled Buffalo Springs Lake on said Exhibit B, which exhibit is attached hereto and made a part hereof for all purposes.
