Vandiver, First Assistari City Attorney Execution Recommended: THE STATE OF TEXAS Certified as being executed for the Purpose and effect of activating and/or carrying out the orders, established Policies, or work programs heretofore approved and authorized by the State Highway and Public Transportation Commission, BY: - %,../''jRight/of Way Engineer Date I Lubbock Power and Light Company proposes to abandon the majority of their faci- lities that are located within the I.H. 27 right-of-way corridor from Broadway Avenue to just south of 19th Street. An exception will be to replace the overhead power line currently located on the north side of 18th Street with an underground installation. Previous approval from Austin will allow the trenching and placement of the underground conduit run at 18th Street to be accomplished by the contractor for the City of Lubbock's water and sewer adjustments at the same location. The existing overhead power line located between Avenue A and Avenue B from 17th Street to 19th Street will have to be re -insulated and upgraded and a new segment of line will have to be built from 17th Street to 14th Street along the east side of Avenue B to allow LP&L to continue to serve its customers at the corner of 14th Street and Avenue B. The service lines at 14th and Avenue B are of the older and heavier copper lines and will need to be replaced by lighter aluminum lines to compensate for the new direction of feed to the customer and the inability to place down guys to sup- port the new and different angles of strain incurred as a result of having to feed the area from another source. Work to accomplish the adjustments outlined in this agreement should begin within two weeks upon notification of approval and should be completed within sixty days. v > ...
