THE STATE OF TEXAS § COUNTY OF LUBBOCK § The Amendment to an Agreement is entered into this 24th day of August, 1989, between the City of Lubbock, Texas, a home rule municipal corporation, hereinafter called "City" and Guadalupe -Parkway Neighborhood Center, Inc., a nonprofit corporation incorporated under the laws of the State of Texas, hereinafter called "Grantee". WITNESSETH: SECTION 1. AGREEMENT PERIOD The parties hereto agree to amend Section 1. Agreement Period of the Funding Agreement to extend the termination date form the originally established date of September 7, 1989, to the amended termination date of May 31, 1990. Quirt, 79403 763-3963 enters July11,C1988 -Sent grant to the.J. E. and L. E. Mabee Foundation, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Our grant was turned down because we did not .have any: local funds dedicated to the project. September, 1988- We called and talked with the following foundations January, 1989 to get information and to see if there was a chance for our grant. There are only a few foundations who give money for buildings: - The Fleming Foundation -Fort Worth, Texas Have only done grants in and around Fort Worth. -.The Bridwell Foundation -Wichita Falls, Texas Only work in the area ='Talked with local groups and all funds are dedicated for this year March.23, 1989 -Our staff visited the Midland community centers and we had appointments with three foundations %® there; Abell -Hanger, Fasken, and Beal. All of ® these are totally dedicated to the Midland - Odessa area. A United Way Member Agency 2. July 28, 1989 - Applied to the Meadows Foundation, Dallas, Texas. This foundation has already helped many groups in Lubbock and we hope that we can receive a grant from them!
