July11,C1988 -Sent grant to the.J. E. and L. E. Mabee Foundation,
Tulsa, Oklahoma. Our grant was turned down because
we did not .have any:
local funds dedicated to the
project.
September, 1988- We called and talked with the following foundations
January, 1989 to get information and to see if there was a chance
for our grant. There are only a few foundations who
give money for buildings:
- The Fleming Foundation -Fort Worth, Texas
Have only done grants in and around Fort Worth.
-.The Bridwell Foundation -Wichita Falls, Texas
Only work in the area
='Talked with local groups and all funds are
dedicated for this year
March.23, 1989 -Our staff visited the Midland community centers
and we had appointments with three foundations
%® there; Abell -Hanger, Fasken, and Beal. All of
® these are totally dedicated to the Midland -
Odessa area.

This foundation has already helped many groups in
Lubbock and we hope that we can receive a grant from
them!
