KING ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, ACCORDING TO THE MAP, PLAT AND/OR DEDICATION DEED THEREOF RECORDED IN VOLUME 469, PAGE 431 OF THE DEED RECORDS OF LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, F WHICH IS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAPS OF THE CITY TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. EV WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the portion of street right-of-way hereinafter described in the body of this Ordinance is no longer needed for street right-of-way purposes =_ and for public use; and it would be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for street right-of-way purposes and for public use; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the portion of street right-of-way as hereinafter described shall BE and the same is hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for street right-of-way purposes and for public use, such street right-of-way being more particularly described in the attached Exhibit "A." SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark the official maps of the City of Lubbock to reflect said abandonment and closing, showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized and directed to cause publication -of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method provided by law. KING ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS (Sheet 1 of 2, sketch of tract attached as sheet 2) A closure, abandonment and vacation of a portion of the right-of-way of North Texas Avenue dedicated with the plat of A.L. King Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, according to the map, plat and/or dedication deed thereof recorded in Volume 469, Page 431 of the Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas, located in Section 15, Block A, Abstract No.85 and Section 78, Block A, Abstract No. 688, said closure, abandonment and vacation contains 0.6960 acres (30,318 square feet) of land being further described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a 1/2" iron rod with a cap marked "HRA 1676" found at a point of intersection of the (original) west right-of-way line of North Texas Avenue and the common line of said Sections 15 and 78, having coordinates of Northing: 7,289,012.58 and Easting: 950,144.80 of the Texas Coordinate System of 1983 (2011). Texas North Central Zone, whence the north Quarter corner of Section 15 and the south Quarter comer of Section 78 bears S. 88e 08' 11" E. a distance of 439.56 feet (per calls indicated on said plat of A.L. King Addition); THENCE N. 01 a 56' 32" E., along said (original) west right-of-way line, a distance of 525.70 feet to a point in the south right-of-way line of Wabash Street (formerly known as Vassar Street, per plat of A.L.
