HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 4388 - Letter Agreement-John Roger Coston & Associates-Job Applicants Background Checks - 02/10/1994Resolution No. 4388 February 10, 1994 Item #26A RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock BE and is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock a Letter Agreement, attached herewith, by and between the City of Lubbock and John Roger Coston & Associates for background checks of job applicants, which Agreement shall be spread upon the minutes of the Council and as spread upon the minutes of this Council shall constitute and be a part of this Resolution as if fully copied herein in detail. MARK WHO i EDWARD MAZUREK Our full field background investigations are designed to provide you with an objective and comprehensive overview of your applicant's personal, professional, and community life. Specific investigation/inquiry will include, but not necessarily be limited to the following: Birth certificate verification and positive identification of applicant. Interview of listed references and development of additional independent sources. Verify educational background and obtain official transcript for highest college degree. Verify former employment and interview former supervisors and co-workers. Review personnel files if possible. Verify current employment and review applicant's personnel file. Interview current supervisor and co-workers (at least three sources). Develop and interview additional independent sources within work place. Review local county civil and criminal records for possible reference to applicant. Obtain nation-wide criminal history search on applicant. Obtain state driving history records on applicant. Obtain current nation-wide retail credit history on applicant. 2/7/94 Mr. Quincy White Page 2 As discussed, our rates are $50.00 per investigative hour, plus customary expenses. We estimate that it will take approximately 8 investigative hours per applicant, or about $400.00 each. As you have three applicants, the cost for investigation would be approximately $1,200.00. Our consultant will report our findings directly to the City Manager by telephone. Be assured that it is our policy to keep you personally appraised of the progress of our investigations.
