AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF AN
ALLEY, LOCATED ADJACENT TO LOTS 1 AND 6 AND 19-24 NEAL AND
ALEXANDER ADDITION AND LOTS 1 AND 6, BLOCK 113, ORIGINAL TOWN
OF LUBBOCK ADDITION, AN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK,
LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE
BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE
OFFICIAL MAPS OF THE CITY TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND
CLOSING; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the alley right-of-way hereinafter
described in the body of this Ordinance is no longer needed for right-of-way purposes
and for public use; and it would be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the
same for right-of-way purposes and for public use: NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the alley right-of-way as hereinafter described shall BE and
the same is hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for right-of-way purposes and for
public use. such right-of-way being more particularly described as Exhibit A.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark
the official maps of the City of Lubbock to reflect said abandonment and closing,
showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph. sentence, phrase, clause or
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the
remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock is hereby
authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance
as an alternative method provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.

BEGINNING at a 1/2" iron rod with cap set for the Northeast corner of Lot 24, Neal and Alexander Addition to the City of
Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, according to the map, plat and/or dedication deed thereof recorded in Volume 26, Page
130, Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas, same being the Northwest corner of this tract;
THENCE S. 88`'19'02" E. a distance of 25.00 feet to a 1/2" iron rod with cap set for the Northwest corner of Lot 1, Block 113,
said Original Town of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, according to the map, plat and/or dedication deed thereof recorded
in Volume 5, Page 384, Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas, for the Northeast corner of this tract;
THENCE S. 01'42'58" W., along the Western boundary of said Lot 1, Original Town of Lubbock, at 125.00 feet pass the
Southwest comer of said Lot 1, at 145.00 feet pass the Northwest corner of Lot 6, Block 113 of said Original Town of
Lubbock, continuing along the Western boundary of said Lot 6, for a total distance of 270.00 feet to an "x" cut in concrete
found at the Southwest corner of said Lot 6 for the Southeast corner of this tract;
THENCE N. 88°19'02" W. a distance of 25.00 feet to an "x" cut in concrete found at the Southeast corner of Lot 1 of said
Neal and Alexander Addition and the most Southerly Southwest corner of this tract;
THENCE N. 01'42'58" E., along the Eastern boundary of said Lot 1, Neal and Alexander Addition, a distance of 125.00 feet
to an 80 penny nail found at the Northeast corner of said Lot 1, Neal and Alexander Addition and a comer of this tract;
THENCE N. 88°19'02" W., along the Northern boundary of Lots 1 through 6 of said Neal and Alexander Addition, a distance
of 300.03 feet to an "x" cut in concrete found at the Northwest corner of said Lot 6 and the Northeast corner of Lot 7 of said
Neal and Alexander Addition and a corner of this tract;
THENCE N. 01'42'58" E. a distance of 20.00 feet to a "mag" nail with washer set for the Southeast corner of Lot 18 and the
Southwest corner of Lot 19 of said Neal and Alexander Addition and a corner of this tract;
THENCE S. 88` 19'02" E., along the Southern boundary of Lots 19 through 24 of said Neal and Alexander Addition, a
distance of 300.03 feet to a 1/2" iron rod with cap found at the Southeast corner of said Lot 24 of Neal and Alexander
Addition and a corner of this tract;
THENCE N. 01'42'58" E., along the Eastern boundary of said Lot 24, Neal and Alexander Addition, a distance of 125.00 feet
