HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2020-O0125 - Budget Amendment #33First Reading September 8, 2020 Item No. 7.8 ORDINANCE NO. 2020-00125 Second Reading September 22, 2020 Item No. 7.1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2019-20 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES RESPECTING THE LAKE ALAN HENRY FUND AND GRANT FUND TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FUNDING FROM THE FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION (FTA) FOR THE SECTION 5339 AND SECTION 5304 GRANTS; PROVIDING FOR FILING; AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE. WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal purposes; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall approve all transfers between funds; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2019-20 Budget for municipal purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves changes to the City of Lubbock Budget FY 2019-20 (Budget Amendment #33) for municipal purposes, as follows: Amend the Lake Alan Henry FY 2019-20 Budget by appropriating an additional $170,000, from $532,135 to $702,135 due to increased police presence needed at the Lake and increase in other operating expenses associated with increased activity at the Lake. II. Accept and appropriate $734,397 from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) for the FY 2017 and FY 2018 Section 5339(a) Grants. The City of Lubbock/Citibus has been awarded Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Transportation Development Credits of 110,553 to serve as local match. III. Accept and appropriate $802,767 from FTA for the FY 2019 and FY 2020 Section 5339(a) Grants. The City of Lubbock/Citibus has been awarded TxDOT Transportation Development Credits of 160,553 to serve as local match. IV. Accept and appropriate $200,000 from FTA for the FY 2021 Section 5304 Grant. The City of Lubbock/Citibus has been awarded TxDOT Transportation Development Credits of 40,000 to serve as local match. SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of Lubbock as required by law. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
