HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 5130 - Collaborative Effort- SPFB Inc, BDP, LUNA, & BF- Application, 1996 AACCA Program - 03/14/1996Resolution No.5130 March 14, 1996 Item # 29 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Lubbock and its citizens have undertaken numerous initiatives to strengthen a sense of community through widespread citizen participation and cooperation; and WHEREAS, the South Plains Food Bank, Inc., the Breedlove Dehydration Plant, Lubbock United Neighborhoods Association (LUNA), and Broadway Festivals have involved citizens in reclaiming their neighborhoods, while acknowledging a global responsibility to combat hunger; and WHEREAS, the aforementioned citizen organizations have pledged to join with the City of Lubbock to celebrate our accomplishments by competing for the "1996 All -America City and Community Award Program"; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: ! That the Mayor is authorized to join, in a collaborative effort, with the South Plains Food Bank, Inc., the Breedlove Dehydration Plant, Lubbock United Neighborhoods Association, and Broadway Festivals to submit an application for the 1996 All -America City and Community Award Program, together with all necessary documentation and filing fees.
