HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2016-O0108 - Budget Amendment 37 - 08/11/2016First Reading July 28, 2016 Item No. 6.3 ORDINANCE NO. 2016-00108 Second Reading August 11, 2016 Item No. 4.1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2015-16 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES RESPECTING THE GRANT FUND TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FUNDING FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENI OF STATE HEALTH SERVICES (DSHS) FOR THE PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS (PHEP) GRANT; AND THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY TEXAS DIVISION OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT (DPSITDEM) FOR THE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PERFORMANCE GRANT (EMPG) AND THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (DHSiFEMA) PUBLIC ASSISTANCE GRANT; AND TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE ADDITIONAL FUNDING FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY AFFAIRS (TDHCA) FOR THE COMPREHENSIVE ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (CEAP) GRANT; PROVIDING FOR FILING; AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE. WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal purposes; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall approve all transfers between funds and departments; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2015-16 Budget for municipal purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COLiNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves changes to the City of Lubbock Budget FY 2015-16 (Budget Amendment #37) for municipal purposes, as follows: I. Accept and appropriate $253,711 from the Texas DSHS for the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Grant. II. Accept and appropriate $70,414 from the Texas DPSiTDEM for the Emergencti Management Performance Grant. III. Accept and appropriate $11,413 from DPS/I'DEM for the DHS/FEMA Public Assistance Grant for repairs to Lubbock Fire Rescue equipment and facilities. IV. Accept and appropriate an additional $104,344 from the TDHCA for the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program Grant, for a total award amount of $1,050,396. SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of Lubbock as required by law. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
