HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2017-O0065 - Budget Amendment 29 - 06/08/2017First Reading May 25, 2017 Item No. 6.4 ORDINANCE NO. 2017-00065 Second Reading June 8, 2017 Item No. 5.1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2016-17 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES RESPECTING THE VEHICLE DEBT FINANCING PROGRAM, GENERAL FUND, CAPITAL PROGRAM TO AMEND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (CIP) 92504, POLICE VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT, CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION FUND AND THE CEMETERY FUND; PROVIDING FOR FILING; AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE. WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal purposes; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall approve all transfers between funds and departments; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2016-17 Budget for municipal purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves changes to the City of Lubbock Budget FY 2016-17 (Budget Amendment #29) for municipal purposes, as follows: Amend the FY 2016-17 Vehicle Debt Financing Program by decreasing the amended financing amount by $294,000, from $7,558,767 to $7,264,767. II. Amend the FY 2016-17 General Fund Operating Budget by increasing the transfer to CIP by $55,955, from $4,674,913 to $4,730,868 to be funded from Fund Balance. IIl. Amend Capital Improvement Project 92504, Police Vehicles and Equipment, by increasing $55,955, from $270,305 to $326,260 for the replacement of two sedans for Police Investigations. IV. Amend the FY 2016-17 Criminal Investigation Fund Operating Budget by increasing Equipment Capital - Vehicles by $152,220, from $195,000 to $347,220. V. Amend the FY 2016-17 Cemetery Operating Budget by increasing the appropriation for vehicle maintenance by $6,619, from $14,500 to $21,119 for the replacement of the dump body on Cemetery's dump truck. SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of Lubbock as required by law. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
