HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2017-O0013 - Budget Amendment 10 - 06/09/2017First Reading Item No. 6.3 January 26, 2017 ORDINANCE NO. 9017-00013 Second Reading Item No. 5.1 February 9, 2017 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2016-17 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES RESPECTING THE GENERAL FUND TO APPROPRIATE ADDITIONAL REVENUE FROM PARK USAGE FEES; TO INCREASE NON -DEPARTMENTAL PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR LEGISLATIVE LOBBYING CONSULTING SERVICES; AND TO INCREASE MUNICIPAL COURT PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR COMPENSATION PAY FOR THE ASSOCIATE JUDGE AND MAGISTRATES; PROVIDING FOR FILING; AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE. WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal purposes; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall approve all transfers between funds and departments; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2016-17 Budget for municipal purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LI,IBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves changes to the City of Lubbock Budget FY 2016-17 (Budget Amendment #10) for municipal purposes, as follows: I. Appropriate an additional $39,000 in General Fund revenue from collecting Park Usage fees. II. Increase Professional Services expenditures in the Non -Departmental Cost Center by $39,000, from $72,000 to $111,000. III. Increase Professional Services expenditures in the Municipal Court Cost Center by $45,700, from $193,000 to $238,700. SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of Lubbock as required by law. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
