Box 2000 Lubbock, TX 79457 Dear Ms. Haney: The Housing Authority of the City of Lubbock is offering its services for the purpose of processing applications for families affected by the North Overton rehabilitation project. The intake of initial housing applications, family interviews and final processing is a daily -function of the Authority's occupancy department. The department is staffed by caseworkers well versed in application intake. The Authority can also manage an unusual influx of affected families due to having several staff members located in the central office that have previously worked in occupancy. An added plus is that our personnel processed the majority of applicants who were affected by the Interstate 27 project. I have attached a proposed budget including a part-time employee. This position will be necessary to handle the additional processing workload. The five dollars ($5.00) fee for criminal background checks is set by the county sheriff's department. Our past experience in dealing with families affected by relocation will allow our caseworkers as well as other LHA staff to make what is often a traumatic transition as smooth and pleasant as possible. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me or Fulton Berry at 762-1191 Ext. 203.
