AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A LOADING ZONE ON THE EAST SIDE OF AVENUE M
B::GTilliiNG AT THE ALLEY SOUTH OF TENTH STREET AND RUNNING SOUTH A DISTANCE OF
FORTY FEET; PROVIDING FOR PAINTING AND 1-.!A.R.TGNG THE CURB ALONG SAID ZONE:
PROVIDlliG A PENALTY UPON COifVICTION FOR PARKING TI~ SAID AREA FOR A PURPOSE
OTHER THAN LOADING AND UNLOADING OF PERSONS OR MERCH.AliDISE; DIRECTING AND
EMPOlffiRING THE CITY SECRETARY TO CAUSE PUBLICATION OF THE DESCRIPI'IVE CAPTION
OF THIS ORDINANCE TOOETHER WITH THE PENALTIES AS SET HEREIN; AHD PROVIDlllG FOR
THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE AFTER ITS PASSAGE.
WHEREAS, an area on the East side of Avenue M beginning at the alley
South of lOth Street and running South a distance of forty feet is needed in
connection l-lith the operation of a medical clinic that requires the loading and
unloading of persons or merchandise, THEREFORE;
BE IT ORDAU.lED BY THE CITY COl.iNISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT, the area on the East side of Avenue H, beginni ng at the
alley South of Tenth Street and running South a distance of 40' is hereby
designated as a loading zone.
SECTION 2. THAr, the East curb line of Avenue M as described in Section
One (1) shall be painted yello\oT with the following lettering: 1fLOADING ZONE 11 •
SECTION 3. THAT, after the effective date of this ordinance it shall be
unlai·r.f'ul for one to permit, allow or suffer a motor vehicle to stop in the area
described in Section One (1) f or any purpose other than while actually engaged
in the loading and unloading of persons or merchandise, and a person found guilty
under this Ordinance is guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined in ~ sum of
money not more than Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars •.
SECTION 4. THAT, the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to
publish the descriptive caption of this Ordinance together with Penalty Clause
No. Three (3) as an alternative method of publication provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
On motion of Commissioner Hufstedler , seconded by Commissioner
Morrie , the forego£ng Ordinance was passed on first reading this
