RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the owner of an approximately 434 -acre parcel east of Lubbock
International Airport, commonly known as East Port, adjacent to the City of Lubbock has
requested annexation of said property by the City of Lubbock; and
WHEREAS, a request for annexation by the owner of more than fifty percent
(50%) of the owners of a tract exempts the said tract from the necessity of being included
in a City of Lubbock annexation plan pursuant to Sec. 43.052(h)(2) of the Local
Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock determined it to be in the
best interest of the citizens of the City of Lubbock to annex said property as requested;
NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT, pursuant to Subchapter C-1 of Chapter 43 of the Local
Government Code, the City of Lubbock hereby agrees to grant the request for annexation
an approximately 434 -acre parcel east of Lubbock International Airport, commonly
known as East Port, adjacent to the City of Lubbock, The Petition requesting annexation,
including a metes and bounds description of the area and a map of said area is attached
hereto as Exhibit A and made a part hereof for all intents and purposes.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Planning Department is hereby directed to prepare a
service plan as required by Sec. 43.065 of the Local Government Code.
SECTION 3. THAT the City Planning Department and the City Attorney are
hereby directed to take all necessary actions to prepare an annexation Ordinance for
consideration by the City Council to annex the property described in Exhibit A hereto
into the City of Lubbock pursuant to the Subchapter C-1 procedure of Chapter 43 of the
Local Government Code.

BEGINNING at a point in the present City Limits as established by
City of Lubbock Ordinance No. 6201, said point being 360 feet east
and 50 feet north of the Southwest Corner of Section 2 Block D-3
Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE north along a line parallel to and 360 feet east of the West
Section Line of Section 2 Block D-3 a distance of 4240 feet to a point
that is 990 feet south of the North Section Line of Section 2 Block D-
3;
THENCE east along a line parallel to and 990 feet south of the North
Section Line of Section 2 Block D-3 a distance of 4389 feet to a point
that is 531 feet west of the East Section line of Section 2 Block D-3;
THENCE south along a line parallel to and 531 feet west of the East
Section Line of Section 2 Block D-3 a distance of 3652 feet to a point
638 feet north and 531 feet west of the Southeast Corner of Section 2
Block D-3;
THENCE east along a line parallel to and +638 feet north of the South
Section Line of Section 2 Block D-3 a distance of 501 feet to a point
30 feet west and 638 feet north of the Southeast Corner of Section 2
Block D-3;
THENCE south along a line parallel to and 30 feet west of the East
Section Line of Section 2 Block D-3 a distance of 588 feet to a point
50 feet north and 30 feet west of the Southeast Corner of Section 2
Block D-3;
THENCE west along a line parallel to and 50 feet north of the South
Section Line of Section 2 Block D-3 a distance of 4890 feet to the
Point of Beginning.
Said area contains 434 acres.

TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS
THE undersigned property owners hereby request that the City of Lubbock,
Texas, annex the property described by metes and bounds on Exhibit A hereto and by a
map attached hereto as Exhibit B into the City of Lubbock. The undersigned real property
owners hereby certify that they total more than fifty percent (50%) of all of the property
owners owning real property in the area indicated by Exhibit A and Exhibit B hereto,
which exhibits are made a part hereof for all purposes. The undersigned hereby certifies
that this Petition for Annexation is signed and acknowledged by each and every person or
corporation signatory to it for the purposes stated herein.
