BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS: That the Western Union Telegraph Company is hereby granted permission to erect poles and string the necessary wire, or wires, thereon, for the purpose of placing telegraph service from the right— of—way of the Panhandle & Santa Fe Railroad Company, to it's office in the Citizens National Sank of Lubbock, Texas, subject to the following terms and conditions: FIRST: Said line of poles shall be erected, beginning at the point where the right—of—way of the Panhandle & Santa Fe Railroad Company inter— sects Ash Street; thence in a southernly, direction along said Ash Street t a point where said Street intersects the alley way, running through the block upon which the Citizens National Bank istlocated; thence along said alleyway in an easterly direction to the office of the Western Union Telegraph Company, SECOND: Said poles shall be erected and placed in such manner as to not unduly interfere with the free and proper use of said Street and alleyway by the inhabitants of the City of Lubbock, and shall, at all times, be kept in good repair in such a manner as to not endanger the safety of the inhabitants of said City, and said City shall have the right, at any proper time when it may deem same necessary for the safety of the inhabitants of e4.id town, to require the poles, so erected, to be replaced, altered or changed, or moved, in the manner it may deem proper for the proper use of said street and alleyway by the inhabi— tants f the said City, or for the protection of the inhabitants of said City, either in their person or property. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after it's passage, as required by law. Passed and approved this loth day of September, A. D. 1917.
