HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 127-1915 - Prohibiting Hotel Runners, Porters, ETC From Plying Vocation Corporate Limits. - 10_11_1915ORDINANCE NO. 127ANORDINANCEPROHIBITINGTHEHOTELRUNNERS, PORTERS, STAGE, CAB ANDOMNIBUSOWNERSANDDRIVERS, HAMEN, E PRESSMEN, BAGGAGEMEN, AND AUTOMOBILEDRIVERSFROMPLYINGTHEIRRESPECTIVEVOCATIONSATANDON THEPREMISESCFANYPASSENGERDEPOTOFANYRAILWAYWITHINTHECORPORATELIMITSOFTHECITYCFLUBBOCK, TEXAS, ONLY AT SUCH PARTS OF SAID PASSENGER DEPOTANDTHEPREMISESTHEREOF, AS ARE DESIGNATED TO THEM BY THE STATIONAGENTOFSUCHPASSENGERDEPOTASTHEPLACEFORTHEPLYINGOF SIR RESPECTIVEVOCATIONS, AND FIXING THE PUNISHMENT FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF: BEITORDAINEDBYTHECITYCOUNCILOFTHECITYOFLUBBOCK, TEXAS: 1. That hotel runners, Hotel porters, Stage, Cab and Omnibus owners and drivers, Hackmen, Eapressmen, Baggagemen and Automobile drivers in plying theirrespectivevocationsatanypassengerdepotofanyrailroadwithinthecorporatelimitsoftheCityofLubbock, Texas, before and upon the arrivalanddepartureoftrains, shall occupy no part of said passenger depot, the grounds or platform thereof, except that portion alloted and designatedtothembythestationagent -of such passenger depot as the placeforthemtoplytheirrespectivevocations, and apon the violation thereof, shall be deemed, guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereofshallbefinedinanysumnottoexceed $25.00. 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from
its passage and publication as required by law. Passed
