RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the owner of an approximately 391.4 -acre parcel west of Lubbock
International Airport, commonly known as West Port, adjacent to the City of Lubbock
has requested annexation of said property by the City of Lubbock; and
WHEREAS, a request for annexation by the owner of more than fifty percent
(50%) of the owners of a tract exempts the said tract from the necessity of being included
in a City of Lubbock annexation plan pursuant to Sec. 43.052(h)(2) of the Local
Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock determined it to be in the
best interest of the citizens of the City of Lubbock to annex said property as requested;
NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT, pursuant to Subchapter C-1 of Chapter 43 of the Local
Government Code, the City of Lubbock hereby agrees to grant the request for annexation
an approximately 391.4 -acre parcel west of Lubbock International Airport, commonly
known as West Port, adjacent to the City of Lubbock, The Petition requesting annexation,
including a metes and bounds description of the area and a map of said area is attached
hereto as Exhibit A and made a part hereof for all intents and purposes.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Planning Department is hereby directed to prepare a
service plan as required by Sec. 43.065 of the Local Government Code.
SECTION 3. THAT the City Planning Department and the City Attorney are
hereby directed to take all necessary actions to prepare an annexation Ordinance for
consideration by the City Council to annex the property described in Exhibit A hereto
into the City of Lubbock pursuant to the Subchapter C-1 procedure of Chapter 43 of the
Local Government Code.

2005 West Port Annexation
BEGINNING at a point in the present City Limits as established by
City of Lubbock Ordinance No. 6201, said point being 130 feet east
and 50 feet north (the intersection of the north City Limits and the
east Right -of -Way line of Interstate 27) of the Southwest Corner of
Section 28 Block A Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE north along the east Right -of -Way line of Interstate 27 (fully
described in Volume 1427 Page 20, Deed Records of Lubbock
County, Texas) to a point 3960 feet north and 259.7 feet east of the
Southwest Corner of Section 32 Block A (said point being the
northwest corner of the Hobgood Tract fully described in Volume
3742 page 7, Deed Records of Lubbock County Texas);
THENCE east along a line 1061.3 feet (the northeast corner of the
Hobgood Tract) to a point;
THENCE south along a line 2640 feet (the southeast corner of the
Hobgood Tract) to a point;
THENCE east along a line parallel to and 1320 feet north of the
South Line of Section 32 Block A a distance of 960 feet to a point;
THENCE south along a line parallel to and 2280 feet east of the West
Section Line of Section 32 Block A and Section 28 Block A a distance
of 6580 feet to a point in the North City Limits as established by City
of Lubbock Ordinance No. 6201;
THENCE west along a line parallel to and 50 feet north of the South
Section Line of Section 28 Block A 2150 feet to the Point of
Beginning.
Said area contains 391.4 acres.

PETITION
TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS
THE undersigned property owners hereby request that the City of Lubbock,
Texas, annex the property described by metes and bounds on Exhibit A hereto and by a
map attached hereto as Exhibit B into the City of Lubbock. The undersigned real property
owners hereby certify that they total more than fifty percent (50%) of all of the property
owners owning real property in the area indicated by Exhibit A and Exhibit B hereto,
which exhibits are made a part hereof for all purposes. The undersigned hereby certifies
that this Petition for Annexation is signed and acknowledged by each and every person or
corporation signatory to it for the purposes stated herein.
