RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION REPEALING CITY OF LUBBOCK RESOLUTION NO..
112266A PASSED IN 1966 PROVIDING THAT THE RETIREMENT DATE FOR
ALL EMPLOYEEES SHALL BE DECEMBER 31 OF THE CALENDAR YEAR
IN WHICH THE EMPLOYEE REACHES AGE SIXTY-FIVE, AND FURTHER
PROVIDING THAT IN NO EVENT SHALL AN EMPLOYEE WHOSE AGE IS
SIXTY-FIVE YEARS OR OVER REMAIN IN THE EMPLOYMENT OF THE
CITY OF LUBBOCK AFTER DECEMBER 31,1969.
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 112266A, passed by the City Council of the City of
Lubbock on November 22, 1966 provided that the retirement date for all employees shall
be December 31 of the calendar year in which the employee reaches age sixty-five, and
further provided that in no event shall an employee whose age is sixty-five years or over
remain in the employment of the City of Lubbock after December 31, 1969; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 112266A neither reflects the policy of the City of
Lubbock nor applicable federal or state law; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Resolution No. 112266A, passed by the City Council of the
City of Lubbock is hereby repealed.

i( RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION REVISING AND AMENDING A RESOLUTION ESTABLISH-
ING AN EQUITABLE POLICY TO ASSIST EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF
LUBBOCK IN PLANNING FOR THEIR RETIREMENT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock feels that in order to
establish a more equitable retirement policy for -employees and to help the
administration of the City of Lubbock make an orderly transition plan for
replacements of persons who retire, it is necessary that an existing resolution
passed on the 22nd day of April, 1965, be revised and amended, NOW THEREF(
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LU13BOCK:
THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby establishes a new
policy for all employees of the City of Lubbock.
SECTION 1. The retirement date for all employees presently employed
will be December 31st of the calendar year in which the employee reaches
age 65 except those employees. presetitly.erpplayed who lack a total of fifteen
quarters of social security credit but in no event shall an employee whose
age is sixty-five years or over remain in the employment of the City of Lubbock
after December 31, 1969.
