HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2007-R0432 - Continue Juvenile Curfew Ordinance - 09/13/2007RESOLUTION Resolution No.2007-R0432 September 13,2007 Item No.6.1 WHEREAS,Section 370.002 of the Local Government Code and Section 18-54 of the Lubbock Code of Ordinances requires the City of Lubbock to review its juvenile curfew ordinance every third year prior to October 30, the day of initial passage of such ordinance;and WHEREAS,the City Council is required to review the ordinance's effect on the community and on the problems the ordinance was intended to remedy, conduct a public hearing on the ordinance,and abolish,take action to continue or modify the ordinance as it sees fit;NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1.THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock,having reviewed the City's juvenile curfew ordinance and program, and having conducted a public hearing as required by Sec.370.002 of the Local Government Code and Sec.18-54 of the Lubbock Code of Ordinances,finds that the City of Lubbock Juvenile Curfew Ordinance shall be continued (abolished,continued or modified). SECTION 2.THAT the Police Chief is hereby authorized and directed to take whatever actions are necessary to comply with the City Council's decision expressed herein with regard to the City of Lubbock's juvenile curfew ordinance and program.
