HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2007-R0090 - Consent To CRMWA Well Field Infrastructure Development Costs - 03/05/2007Resolution No. 2007 R0090 March 5, 2007 Item No. 5.10 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Canadian River Municipal Water Authority ("CRMWA"), of which the City of Lubbock is a member, has purchased substantial groundwater in, on and under certain lands located in Roberts County, Texas (the "Groundwater Rights");. WHEREAS, construction of substantial well field infrastructure is necessary to operate and produce the Groundwater Rights; WHEREAS, it was initially estimated by CRMWA that the well field infrastructure expense would amount to approximately Twenty Million Dollars ($20,000,000); WHEREAS, it is now estimated by CRMWA that the well field infrastructure expense will amount to approximately Twenty -Five Million Dollars ($25,000,000); WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock desires to indicate its approval and acceptance of the expenditure of the well field infrastructure by CRMWA, as set forth above. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the City of Lubbock hereby consents to the expenditure of the Canadian River Municipal Water Authority of Twenty -Five Million Dollars ($25,000,000) related to development of well field infrastructure and hereby supports the Canadian River Municipal Water Authority in its efforts to develop and produce the Groundwater Rights.
