RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the resignation of City Attorney Donald G. Vandiver requires the
City Council of the City of Lubbock to appoint an attorney to serve as City Attorney; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens of
the City of Lubbock to appoint an experienced municipal attorney to serve as City
Attorney, until such time that a permanent City Attorney is hired; and
WHEREAS, Mitchell Satterwhite, an attorney with municipal law experience in
the Lubbock City Attorney's Office has agreed to serve as City Attorney on an interim
bases; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Mitchell Satterwhite is hereby appointed to serve as the City
Attorney of the City of Lubbock, on an interim basis, until such time as his successor
shall be appointed and qualified.
SECTION 2. THAT upon passage of this Resolution, the City Manager or her
designee shall make such changes to the municipal budget and such other matters as may
be necessary to implement this Resolution.
SECTION 3. THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock shall be authorized to
execute any related documents in connection with Mitchell Satterwhite's assumption of
the additional duties as Interim City Attorney.
