HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2009-R0078 - Amendment - MWM Architects - Youth Sports Activity Contract - 02/26/2009Resolution No. 2009-R0078 February 26, 2009 Item No. 5.13 RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby authorizes and directs the Mayor of the City of Lubbock to execute an Amendment No. 2 to the Youth Sports Activity Contract of 2005 by and between the City of Lubbock and MWM Architects of Lubbock, Texas, pertaining to architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing design services, which Amendment No. 2 and any associated documents, are attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution for all intents and purposes. Box 2000 1010 91h Street Lubbock, Texas 79457 Re: Contract No. 6207 Youth Sports Activities Project for the City of Lubbock Hwy 1585 and Milwaukee Avenue Lubbock County, Texas Dear Mr. Truesdell: This letter shall serve as an Amendment #2 to our July 11, 2005 Contract referenced above that revises the Scope of the City of Lubbock Youth Sports Activities Project to include Phase 2 Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Design Services, plus Hugo Reed's Civil and Survey Services for the Project. Phase Two shall include designs for "approximately" Sixteen (16) Senior Soccer Fields, Nine (9) Junior Soccer Fields, Fourteen (14) Intermediate Soccer Fields and Seventeen (17) Pee Wee Soccer Fields, along with One (1) Freestanding Public Toilet/Office Building, One (1) Freestanding Public Toilet/Maintenance Building and One (1) Freestanding Public Toilet/Large Meeting Room Freestanding Building. Eight (8) of the Senior Soccer Fields will be illuminated for evening games. Additional parking for "approximately" 750 cars shall be included, The Fee for Phase Two Work shall be a Lump Sum in the amount of Five Hundred Ninety -Five Thousand Dollars ($595,000.00), plus reimbursable expenses and any Owner authorized additional services. The Lump Sum Fee is the sum of MWM's fee in the amount of $385,000.00 and Hugo Reed's fee in the amount of $210,000.00. Each Phase of our Work shall be authorized in writing by the City of Lubbock. In order to have a Budget Estimate of Probable Cost developed, we need to take the design through the Design Development Phase which represents some 35% of our fee or $208,250.00 All other terms of our original Contract (Contract No. 6207) shall remain in force.
