HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2012-R0281 - Amend Resolution 2005-R0065 - City Manager Approving Routine Contracts - 07/12/2012Resolution No. 2012-R0281 July 12, 2012 Item No. 5.22 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Texas Local Government Code at Section 252.021(a) provides that a municipal contract requiring an expenditure of more than $50,000 must comply with applicable bidding requirements and procedures; and WHEREAS, the current City of Lubbock policy, as set forth in Resolution No. 2005-R0065 adopted February 10, 2005, provides that the City Manager may approve routine contracts requiring an expenditure of $25,000 or less; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds it to be in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Lubbock to expedite the performance of City business by revising city policy herein to grant the City Manager the authority to execute and approve routine contracts for goods and services requiring an expenditure of $50,000 or less; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Section 2 of Resolution No. 2005-R0065 is hereby amended to read as follows: THAT the City Manager of the City of Lubbock, or her designee, is hereby authorized and directed to approve routine contracts for goods and services involving expenditures or the receipt of $50,000 or less that are executed on standard City contract forms or in a form approved by the City Attorney. SECTION 2. THAT the City Manager, or her designee, is hereby directed to provide to the members of the City Council a written report showing each contract approved by the City Manager under the authority granted in Section 1, above, on a quarterly basis.
