PURCHASED POWER COST RECOVERY FACTOR:
The Purchased Power Cost Recovery Factor (PPRF) will include all costs of purchased power,
network transmission and ancillary services costs incurred by LP&L in serving retail customers.
Such costs will include but not be limited to wind energy. cogeneration purchases, and similar costs
incurred through any wholesale purchases. The PPRF will consist of a demand and energy
component. The demand component will include demand charges and other fixed cost components
associated with purchased power, transmission and ancillary services. The energy component will
include fuel and adjustments thereto, and variable operation and maintenance expenses associated
with purchased power.
For customers on a non -demand rate, the resulting demand component will be combined with the
energy component for billing purposes. For customers on a demand rate, the demand component
will be a separate charge.
For customers served under the State University General Service Rate Tariff (16U) the calculation
is as follows:
Purchased Power Recovery Factor — General University (PPRF-GU):
Defined Terms:
ATPP - Actual total monthly purchased power costs to retail customers for the applicable
current month (current month means the month that corresponds to the purchased
power costs)
ATEP - Actual total energy purchases in kWh for all retail customers for the current month
Calculation:
PPRF-GU = [((ATPP )/(ATEP*0.98))]
For customers serviced under all other Rate Tariffs the calculation is as follows:
Purchased Power Recovery - Energy Component (PPRF-E):
Defined Terms:
ATPPE — Actual total monthly purchased power costs to retail customers related to base energy,
Purchased Power Cost Recovery Factor Rev: 06iO112013
fuel, fuel adjustments and variable operation and maintenance costs and other similar
charges for the applicable current month (current month means the month that
corresponds to the purchased power costs)
ATEP - Actual total electricity purchased for the current month as contained in the monthly
purchased power bills.
CMRE — Current month revenue collected from PPRF-E.
SMRE — Estimated revenue collected from PPRF-E from month subsequent to current month
EMAF — Energy Monthly Adjustment Factor — An adjustment factor for the purposes of truing -up energy
related power costs when revenue associated with the calculated PPRF-E varies from actual
costs. The EMAF will be reviewed and established monthly.
Calculation:
Primary Voltage Service
PPRF - E = ((ATPPE+EMAF)/(ATEP))* 1.0409
Secondary Voltage Service
PPRF - E = ((ATPPE+EMAF)/(ATEP))* 1.0630
Energy Monthly Adjustment Factor:
EMAF = [ATPPE-(CMRE/2 + SMRE/2)]
Purchased Power Recovery - Demand Component (PPRF-D):
Defined Terms:
ATPPD — Actual total monthly purchased power costs to retail customers related to production,
transmission and ancillary services demand and other similar charges for the applicable
current month (current month means the month that corresponds to the purchased power
costs)
CMRD — Current month revenue collected from PPRF-D.
SMRD — Estimated revenue collected from PPRF-D from month subsequent to current month
DMAF — Demand Monthly Adjustment Factor — An adjustment factor for the purposes of truing -up
demand related power costs when revenue associated with the calculated PPRF-D varies from
actual costs. The DMAF will be reviewed and established monthly.
Purchased Power Cost Recovery Factor Rev: 06/01/2013

month estimated billing units/2)
a) Current month means the month that corresponds to the purchased power costs
b) Following month means the month immediately following the current month
c) Billing units may either be class billed demand or energy depending upon the
customer class.
