Re: Fire Station #19 - A/E Additional Services for Increased Project Scope
Mr. Everett:
We have enjoyed working with you, George Lisenbe, Chief Kemp and the rest of the Fire
Administration through the schematic design process. The time spent to date has proven critical for you
and the fire department leadership to properly determine your needs. Though the requested, submitted,
and approved schematic design exceeded the original contract agreement, it became evident that it was
needed to meet the department function at this new facility for now and many years to come.
The following outlines the additional services delivered to date for the Lubbock Fire Station #19. Per
articles 1.1 and 4.3.1.1 of the prime agreement executed on July 12, 2012, the following adjustments to
the agreed upon scope have been requested by fire administration with support from you and George.
1. Increase building gross square footage from 10,000 (ref. article 1.1) to 12,130. This increase
includes an added training room, adjustments to accommodate the dive team functions, and
facility space adjustments for compliance with the new accessibility code (ADA). After many
site -adapt station designs were reviewed and considered, the resultant effort created a new
unique station design (ref. article 1.1) in plan and exterior aesthetic specific to the Lubbock Fire
Department needs.
2. Due to the adjustments of scope, the project delivery per Part II, shall be adjusted by 75 days.
The additional service negotiated with you and Chief Kemp for this increased scope is $25,000.
Please sign below and we continue with the design as requested. Again, thank you very much for the
opportunity to serve you.
Sincerely,
Wiginton Hooker Jeffry, P.C. — Architects
