A total of 285 lane miles of State System roadways within the City are essentially operating as urban streets and no longer operating as State highways. It is understood that these roads should be removed from the State System and maintenance and jurisdiction be turned over to the City. Based on $22,000 per lane mile, these roads equate to a total maintenance value of $6,270,000 to the City.
