ENGINEER: Enprotsc f Hibbs 3 Todd REFERENCE: Sheet 4 --- 42" Connection to Existing Letter of dune 2 concerning Differing Site Conditions The Contractor proposes to make the following additions, modifications, or deletions to the Work described in the Contract Documents: PROJECT NUMBER 291 4678 Date: Jun. 27, 2014 As per the above letter, the 42" connection point at about Station 0+26 for the outfall line and the existing encased 42" line is not as per the contract drawings. We have tried to find the exact location and a solution for the connection. The existing drive to the north of the connection point had to be removed to stabilize the excavation and to locate the pipeline. As per our discussions, we dug down and found the connection below the existing ductbank and about 10' to the north. We have looked at rotating the existing 42" line up but the pipe below the W Structure and the first 42" bend is encased. The other obstacle is the distance between the ductbank and the encased 42" will not allow the line to be laid properly. Therefore, it appears we will have to tunnel under the encased pipe to Install the 42".
