HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2014-R0232 - Reopen Parking Areas And Sidealks Around Omni Building - 06/26/2014RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City Council of` the City of Lubbock on May 22, 2014 by minuted action instructed the City Manager to take all necessary steps to reopen the easternmost lane of traffic on Avenue K, between 13`h and I4`s Streets, as well as the easternmost on -street parking and sidewalk along and adjacent thereto, so as to allow vehicular and pedestrian thru traffic, for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days from the date those areas were opened; and WHEREAS, the City Council further instructed the City Manager to monitor local weather conditions, and close said areas temporarily for any period of time that wind speeds reached or exceeded thirty (30) miles per hour; and WHEREAS, the City Council now wishes to extend indefinitely the period of' time that the areas opened to thru traffic by the City Manager remain open, with the approved provisos on wind conditions intact; NOW, THEREFORE: 131: IT I�ESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS: ITIAT the street, parking and sidewalk areas having been reopened around the Omni Building by the City Manager pursuant to action by the City Council on May 22, 2014, shall remain open to vehicular and pedestrian traffic until further action by the City Council; provided, however, THAT the City Manager shall monitor local weather conditions and close said areas temporarily for any period of time that wind speeds reach or exceed thirty (30) miles per hour.
