HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2004-R0100 - Resolution Creating Transportation Strategic Planning Task Force - 02/19/2004Resolution No. 2004-RO100 February 19, 2004 Item No. 62 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock desires to establish a Public Transportation Strategic Planning Task Force for the City of Lubbock to work with the existing Transit Advisory Board; and WHEREAS, the Public Transportation Strategic Planning Task Force shall be composed of citizens of the City of Lubbock and City employees; and WHEREAS, the purpose of the task force shall be to look as transportation issues such as long term goals, funding, strategic planning and solutions for transporting disabled individuals, senior citizens, and low income individuals; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT a Public Transportation Strategic Planning Task Force is hereby created by the City Council of the City of Lubbock, which shall perform its duties in accordance with the following criteria: 1. The Task Force shall consist of seven members that shall be citizens of the City of Lubbock and shall be appointed by the City Council upon recommendation of the City Manager. The City Council shall designate the Chairperson from the appointed members of the Task Force. Two or more city employees shall be appointed by the City Manager to act as staff liaisons to the Task Force. 2. The primary objective of the Task Force shall be to look at public transportation in relation to strategic planning, long term goals, funding, and transportation of disabled individuals, senior citizens, and low income individuals, and then to make recommendations to the City Council. 3. Regular meetings will be held at times and locations established by a majority of the Task Force members. A simple majority shall constitute a quorum, and a majority vote of the quorum shall be required for any action to be taken by the Task Force. 4. The Public Transportation Strategic Planning Task Force members shall serve for a term of one year or until such time as their successors are appointed. 20014.- (-O/Uo 5.
