HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2004-R0091 - Trail Route Improvements - Mackenzie Park - 02/19/2004Resolution No. 2004-80091 February 19, 2004 Item No. 32 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock owns and operates Mackenzie Park; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Board of the City of Lubbock is an advisory board to the City of Lubbock and is charged with making recommendations to the City Council regarding operational policies of parks and recreation facilities; WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Board of the City of Lubbock has carefully considered the use of the existing equestrian trail located in Mackenzie Park and has determined that an official equestrian trail would be beneficial to the Park and to the citizens of the City of Lubbock; WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Board of the City of Lubbock has advised and recommended to the City Council of the City of Lubbock that an equestrian trail, the route of same being roughly depicted in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, and made a part hereof for all purposes, be officially designated by the City Council for the City of Lubbock. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby designates the route depicted in Exhibit "A", attached hereto, as well as extensions and improvements to such route, as the official equestrian trail in Mackenzie Park. 2. THAT no motorized or non -motorized vehicles may be utilized within or upon the official equestrian trail.
