RESOLUTION Item No. 27
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
Whereas, a Right -of -Way Deed exists in Section E-2, Block 6, Lubbock
County, Texas, being a part of that 14.586 acre tract of land conveyed by R.G. Henry
and M.C. Kinser et al, to the State of Texas in Right -of -Way Deed recorded in Volume
705, Page 9, and Volume 706, Page 16, Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas and
adjoining that tract of land conveyed to John G. Wilkerson, Jr. and wife, Ruth C.
Wilkerson in Warranty Deed recorded in Volume 1847, Page 832, Real Property
Records of Lubbock County, Texas;
Whereas, the land specified is no longer needed for the use of citizens as a road;
Whereas, a release of the right-of-way would enable an abutting landowner
more efficient use of the land;
Whereas, the Texas Department of Transportation has made this request of the
City of Lubbock.
Whereas, the property descriptions for said right-of-way are attached in Exhibits
"A" & "B" of this resolution;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Lubbock does not
interpose any objection for the State to sell and release the said right-of-way to the
abutting landowner.

Field Notes
Field notes on a 1.07 acre tract of land out of Section 6, Block E-2, Abstract No. 690, Lubbock
County, Texas and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at an "X" in concrete, found in the existing East line of Loop 289 for the Southwest
corner of Lot 4-A, Splawn-Henry Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas as
recorded in Volume 1847, Pages 832-835 of the Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas and
for the Southeast and beginning corner of this tract, whence the Southwest corner of said
Section 6, Block E-2, bears North 87°31'02" West, 740.38 feet and South 02°22'48" West,
1012.94 feet;
THENCE North 87°36'56" West, 138.04 feet to a %" iron rod with cap, set for the Southwest
corner of this tract;
THENCE Northwesterly, along the arc of a curve. to the left, an arc distance of 139.36 feet to a
Y:" iron rod with cap, set for a comer of this tract, said curve has a radius of 1933.94 feet,.a delta
angle of 04007'430, and a chord bearing and distance of North 17056'44" West, 139.33 feet;
THENCE Northwesterly, along the arc of a curve to the right, an arc distance of 309.47 feet to an
"X" in concrete, found in the existing East line of said Loop 289 and the West line of said Lot 4-A,
Splawn-Henry Addition for the most Northerly comer of this tract, said curve has a radius of
385.00 feet, a delta angle of 46°03'20", and a chord bearing and distance of North 00055'52"
West, 301.21 feet;
THENCE South 25°42'26' East, along the existing East line of said Loop 289 and the West line
of said Lot 4-A, Splawn-Henry Additio(r, 378.30 feet to an "X" in.concrete, found for a comer of
this tract;
THENCE Southeasterly, along the arc of a curve. to the right and along the existing East line of
said Loop 289 and the West line of said Lot 4-A; Splawn-Henry Addition, an arc distance of
101.87 feet to point of beginning, said curve has.a radius of 219.00 feet, a delta angle of
26039'03", and a chord bearing and distance of, South 12°22'56" East, 100.95 feet;
CONTAINING an area of 1..07 acres of land.
Bearings are grid bearings based on Interstate 27 control points as established by Texas
