RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock BE and is hereby authorized and
directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock, a Dedicatory Certificate in
connection with the platting by said City of Tract A, LP&L Northwest Substation
Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, and related documents. Said
Dedicatory Certificate is attached hereto and incorporated in this resolution as if fully set
forth herein and shall be included in the minutes of the City Council.
Passed by the City Council this 25th day of September 2008.

DEDICATORY CERTIFICATE
THE STATE OF TEXAS
COUNTY OF LUBBOCK
Resolution No. 2008-80373
This is to certify that THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS, a Texas Home -Rule Municipality, is
the owner of a tract of land described as follows, to -wit:
A tract of land located in Section 14, Block A, Lubbock County, Texas, being further
described as follows:
BEGINNING at a 1/2" iron rod found in the South line of Section 14, Block A, Lubbock
County, Texas, same being a point in the South right-of-way line of Ursuline Street as
described in Volume 1213, Page 347, Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas for the
Southeast corner of this tract, which bears N. 88°11'49" E., a distance of 4980.69 feet from
the Southwest corner of said Section 14, Block A, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE N. 8801149" W., along the South line of Section 14, Block A, and said South
right-of-way line of Ursuline Street, a distance of 340.12 feet to a 1/2" iron rod with cap
found for the Southwest comer of this tract;
THENCE N. 01048'11" E., at 55.00 feet pass a 1/2" iron rod with cap set in reference,
continuing for a total distance of 591.53 feet to a 1/2" iron rod with cap found in the South
line of that tract of land described in Volume 4731, Page 109, Real Property Records of
Lubbock County, Texas, and the Northwest corner of this tract;
THENCE S. 55008'22" E., along said South line, a distance of 404.85 feet to a 1/2" iron rod
with cap set in the West line of that tract of land described in Volume 5854, Page 101, Real
Property Records of Lubbock County, Texas at the Northeast comer of this tract;
THENCE S. 01040141" W., along said West line, at 31.80 feet pass the Northwest comer of
that tract of land described in Volume 5311, Page 233, Real Property Records of Lubbock
County, Texas, at 177.00 feet to the Northwest corner of that tract of land described in
Volume 1618, Page 280, Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas, at 315.70 feet pass a 1/2"
iron rod found in reference, continuing for a total distance of 370.70 feet to the Point of
Beginning;
and the undersigned wishes to plat the above described property, designating streets, alleys, easements
(surface and/or underground), and other public properties shown in accordance with the attached map,
prepared by Brent Carroll, Registered Professional Land Surveyor No. 5410, on the .3 _ day of
.2008, and approved by the Planning Commission of the City of Lubbock on the lo�'r
day of �200 and desiring to have said property platted and duly filed for record as
required by law, all as shown on the attached map;
NOW, THEREFORE, KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: That for and in consideration of
the premises and the special benefits to the remainder of the property in the area, the undersigned does
hereby DEDICATE all the streets, alleys, easements (surface and/or underground), and other public
properties shown and designated upon said map to the PUBLIC for PUBLIC USE FOREVER; and by
these presents does impress the name of "TRACT A, LP&L NORTHWEST SUBSTATION ADDITION
to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas" upon said property for the correct reference and
description thereto by tract as indicated upon the attached map, and the undersigned does hereby adopt the
name hereinabove stated and impresses the same upon said land, incorporating said map as a part of this
dedication.

SUBJECT: Agenda Comments — September 25, 2008 City Council Meeting
08 -080 -FO — Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to award a contract to R.L.
Building Maintenance, Inc. of Lubbock, Texas for carpet and brick cleaning services at
Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
The bid establishes annual pricing for interior floor cleaning services for carpet and brick
in the airport passenger terminal. The contract term is for a period of one year with the
option to renew for two, one-year terms.
The following two companies responded to the Invitation to Bid:
R. L. Building Maintenance, Inc. of Lubbock Texas
$23,400 annual carpet cleaning ($.045 unit price)
$5,200 annual brick cleaning ($.010 unit price)
$3,800 stripping ($.10 unit price)
$32,400 Annual Total
Industrial Maintenance & Supoly of Lubbock Texas
$26,000 annual carpet cleaning ($.050 unit price)
$11,960 annual brick cleaning ($.023 unit price)
$7,600 stripping ($.20 unit price)
$45,560 Annual Total
The bid award for this agenda item is awarded by the unit price. The total amount of the
award is estimated and actual expenditures may be more or less depending on actual
needs. The price per unit will not change.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds have been budgeted in the Airport's Operating Budget 4615.8302.

The Airport Board and Airport Staff recommend award to the lowest cost vendor, R. L.
Building Maintenance, Inc. of Lubbock, Texas for $32,400.
