HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2005-R0114 - Request For Annexation - 114Th St. And Indiana - 03/04/2005Resolution No. 2005-RO114 March 4, 2005 Item 30 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the owners of certain real property within the area bounded by the present city limits south of 114th Street, Indiana Avenue, Slide Road and FM 1585 have requested annexation of said property by the City of Lubbock; and WHEREAS, said area contains fewer than 100 separate tracts of land on which one or more residential dwellings are located on each tract, which exempts the said area from the necessity to be included in a City of Lubbock annexation plan pursuant to Sec. 43.052 of the Local Government Code; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock determined it to be in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Lubbock to annex said property at a Work Session Meeting on November 18, 2004; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT, pursuant to Chapter 43 of the Local Government Code, the City of Lubbock hereby agrees to grant the request for annexation of the area bounded by the present city limits south of 114th Street, Indiana Avenue, Slide Road and FM 1585, a map of which area is attached hereto as Exhibit A and made a part hereof for all intents and purposes. SECTION 2. THAT the City Planning Department is hereby directed to prepare a service plan as required by Sec. 43.065 of the Local Government Code. SECTION 3. THAT the City Planning Department and the City Attorney are hereby directed to take all necessary actions to prepare an annexation Ordinance for consideration by the City Council to annex the property described in Exhibit A hereto into the City of Lubbock pursuant to the Subchapter C-1 procedure of Chapter 43 of the Local Government Code.
