RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the owners of certain real property within the area bounded by the
present city limits south of 114th Street, Indiana Avenue, Slide Road and FM 1585 have
requested annexation of said property by the City of Lubbock; and
WHEREAS, said area contains fewer than 100 separate tracts of land on which
one or more residential dwellings are located on each tract, which exempts the said area
from the necessity to be included in a City of Lubbock annexation plan pursuant to Sec.
43.052 of the Local Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock determined it to be in the
best interest of the citizens of the City of Lubbock to annex said property at a Work
Session Meeting on November 18, 2004; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT, pursuant to Chapter 43 of the Local Government Code, the
City of Lubbock hereby agrees to grant the request for annexation of the area bounded by
the present city limits south of 114th Street, Indiana Avenue, Slide Road and FM 1585, a
map of which area is attached hereto as Exhibit A and made a part hereof for all intents
and purposes.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Planning Department is hereby directed to prepare a
service plan as required by Sec. 43.065 of the Local Government Code.
SECTION 3. THAT the City Planning Department and the City Attorney are
hereby directed to take all necessary actions to prepare an annexation Ordinance for
consideration by the City Council to annex the property described in Exhibit A hereto
into the City of Lubbock pursuant to the Subchapter C-1 procedure of Chapter 43 of the
Local Government Code.

Beginning at a point that is in the existing city limits as established by Ordinance
10117, said point being 660 feet south and 660 feet east of the NW corner of Section,
21, Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas; thence south a distance of approximately 5,280
feet (for reference only) to a point 660 feet south and 660 feet east of the SW corner of
Block E-2, Section 21, Lubbock County, Texas; thence west along a line approximately
11,880 feet (for reference only) to a point 660 feet south and 660 feet west of the SW
corner of Block E-2, Section 23, Lubbock County, Texas; then north a distance of
approximately 5,280 feet (for reference only) to a point 660 feet south and 660 feet west
of the NE corner of Block E-2, Section 23, Lubbock County, Texas (a point in the
existing city limits for reference only); thence east along the existing city limits a distance
of approximately 11,880 feet (for reference only) to the point of beginning. The
approximate area is 1,440 acres.

voluntary annexation process. Stellar Development is currently under contract to purchase this property from the
Sellers, Kyle and Karen Fulton, pending annexation, zoning, and pre -platting. The land is described as 320 acres,
located in Section 23, Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas between Slide Road and Quaker Avenue on the south side
of 114a` St. The full metes and bounds are determined by attached survey.

Dear Mayor McDougal;
I would like to submit to you this formal request for annexation under the guidelines of the City of Lubbock's voluntary
annexation process. The land is a gross 640 acres with a net 550.98 acres, located between Quaker Avenue and Indiana
Avenue (E/W boundary) and 114th Street and FM 1585 (130tih Street - N/S boundary). part of the gross acreage is already
located within the city limits.
The owners and legal descriptions of the land involved is as follows:
