RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the owner of an approximately 300 -acre parcel north of FM 1294
and east of Interstate 27 adjacent to the City of Lubbock has requested annexation of said
property by the City of Lubbock; and
WHEREAS, said area contains fewer than 100 separate tracts of land on which
one or more residential dwellings are located on each tract, which exempts the said area
from the necessity to be included in a City of Lubbock annexation plan pursuant to Sec.
43.052 of the Local Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock determined it to be in the
best interest of the citizens of the City of Lubbock to annex said property; NOW
THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT, pursuant to Chapter 43 of the Local Government Code, the
City of Lubbock hereby agrees to grant the request for annexation an approximately 300 -
acre parcel north of FM 1294 and east of Interstate 27 adjacent to the City of Lubbock, a
map of which area is attached hereto as Exhibit A and made a part hereof for all intents
and purposes.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Planning Department is hereby directed to prepare a
service plan as required by Sec. 43.065 of the Local Government Code.
SECTION 3. THAT the City Planning Department and the City Attorney are
hereby directed to take all necessary actions to prepare an annexation Ordinance for
consideration by the City Council to annex the property described in Exhibit A hereto
into the CitYof Lubbock pursuant to the Subchapter C-1 procedure of Chapter 43 of the
Local Government Code.

EXHIBIT A (Part 1)
METES and BOUNDS description of a 307.777 -Acre Tract out of Section 38, Block D,
Lubbock County, Texas further described as follows:
Beginning at a "PK" nail which bears North 88033'49" West a distance of 5,287.13 feet
from the Southeast corner of said Section 38;
Thence North 88033'49" West a distance of 50 feet to a point of intersection;
Thence North 1104'04" East a distance of 1825.42 feet;
Thence Northeasterly along a curve to the right, said curve having a radius of 2,914.60
feet, a central angle of 10007'00", a chord bearing of North 6008'40" East, and a chord
distance of 513.96 feet to a point of intersection;
Thence North 11 012'08" East a distance of 309.81 feet to a point of intersection;
Thence Northeasterly along a curve to the left, said curve having a radius of 2,814.99
feet, a central angle of 9031'52", a chord bearing of North 6026'55" East, and a chord
distance of 467.73 feet to a point of intersection;
Thence North 1 °44'07 East a distance of 343.44 feet to a point of intersection;
Thence Northeasterly along a curve to the right, said curve having a radius of 1,482.39
feet, a central angle of 25000'00", a chord bearing of North 14105'40" East, and a chord
distance of 641.70 feet to a point of intersection;
Thence North 26037'44" East a distance of 574.40 feet to a point of intersection;
Thence Northeasterly along a curve to the left, said curve having a radius of 1,223.24
feet, a central angle of 33010'49", a chord bearing of North 10002'53" East, and a chord
distance of 698.53 feet to a point of intersection;
Thence South 88044'36" East, along the North line of said Section 38, at 100.26 feet
pass a Y2" iron rod with cap set in the East right-of-way line of said county road (U.S.
87), continuing for a total distance of 2,064.23 feet to a Y2" iron rod with cap set for the
Northeast corner of this tract;
Thence South 1 °13'33" West, at 5,245.34 feet pass a Y2" iron rod with cap in the North
right-of-way line of FM Highway No. 1294, continuing for a total distance of 5,295.34
feet to a point in the South line of said Section 38;
Thence North 88033'49" West, along the South line of said Section 38 a distance of
2649.62 feet to the point of beginning and containing 307.777 Acres including any
Flight -of -Way.

TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS
The undersigned property owners hereby request that the City of Lubbock, Texas,
annex the property described by metes and bounds on Exhibit A hereto and by a map or
plat on Exhibit B hereto into the City of Lubbock The undersigned real property owners
hereby certify that they total more than fifty percent (50`/0) of all of the property owners
owning real property in the area indicated by Exhibit A and Exhibit B hereto, which
exhibits are made a pact hereof for all purposes. The undersigned hereby certify that this
Petition for Annexation is signed and acknowledged by each and every person or
corporation signatory to it for the purposes stated herein.
