RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore established the general
prevailing rate of per diem wages for each craft or type of workmen or mechanics
needed to execute public works contracts for the City of Lubbock in accordance with
the provisions of Vernon's Ann. Civ. Art. 5159a; and
WHEREAS, such wage rates were established by Resolution No. 719 enacted
February 12, 1981, updated by Resolution No. 1590 enacted February 23, 1984,
further updated by Resolution No. 2502 enacted January 8, 1987, further updated by
Resolution No. 5721 enacted March 14, 1996, amended by Resolution No. 6138
enacted December 16, 1998; and further updated by Resolution No. 6262 enacted
April 8, 1999; and
WHEREAS, such rates need to be updated at the present time in order to
reflect the current prevailing rate of per diem wages; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the general prevailing rate of per diem wages for public works
contracts shall be as set forth in the following named exhibits, which exhibits shall
be attached hereto and made a part hereof for all intents and purposes:
Exhibit A: Building Construction Trades
Exhibit B: Paving and Highway Construction
Exhibit C: Overtime Rate
Exhibit D: Legal Holiday Rate
Such wage rates are hereby found and declared to be the general prevailing rate of per
diem wages in all localities where public works are undertaken on behalf of the City
of Lubbock and such wage rates shall be included in all public works contracts as
provided by law.
Passed by the City Council this 14th day of November 2002.

Overtime Rate
The rate for overtime (in excess of forty hours per week) shall be as required by the Fair
Labor Standards Act.
