RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock BE and is hereby authorized and
directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock a Renewal and Extension of
Professional Services Agreement between the City of Lubbock and Texas Tech
University, and any other related documents. Said Agreement is attached hereto and
incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set forth herein and shall be included in the
minutes of the Council.
Passed by the City Council this 23rd day of January 2002.

Attached are three copies of the document referenced above. All have been signed on
behalf of Texas Tech University. It is my understanding you will return one fully
executed original to me shortly after the City Council meeting scheduled for January 24,

RENEWAL AND EXTENSION OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT
This Renewal and Extension of Professional Services Agreement is entered
into this 24th day of January, 2002, but effective for all purposes December 31, 2001,
by and between Texas Tech University ("University") and the City of Lubbock, Texas, a
Texas home -rule municipal corporation ("City").
WHEREAS, the City and University entered into that certain Professional
Services Agreement (the "Original Agreement"), dated on or about November 11,
1993, for the provision of archaeological curation services;
WHEREAS, the City and University desire to renew and extend the Original
Agreement:
NOW, THEREFORE, City and University agree as follows:
The term of the Original Agreement is extended from December 31, 2001 to December
31, 2011.
The consideration for this Renewal and Extension is the educational benefits to be
enjoyed by the University and the students and visitors thereof, as a result of or related
to the study of the archeological curation. The receipt and sufficiency of the
consideration is hereby expressly stipulated and agreed by the University. No
monetary consideration shall be paid by City to University regarding the extension of
the term of the Original Agreement.
All other terms, conditions and provisions of the Original Agreement, except as
amended herein, shall remain in full force and effect as originally provided.
