AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF A WATER LINE
EASEMENT AND A DRAINAGE EASEMENT LOCATED IN SECTION 20, BLOCK
E-2, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN
THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK
THE OFFICIAL MAPS OF THE CITY TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND
CLOSING; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATON.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the easement portions as hereinafter
described in the body of this Ordinance are no longer needed for public use and it would
be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for easement purposes and
public use; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the easement portions as hereinafter described shall BE and
the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for easement purposes and for public
use, such easements being more particularly described as follows:
TRACT 1
FIELD NOTES on a portion of a Water Line Easement to be closed out of Section
20, Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas, further described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the East line of the South Half (S/2) of Section 20,
from whence the Northeast corner of the South Half of Section 20 bears N 0°
03'06" E, 685.38 feet;
THENCE S 00 03'06" W, 20 feet;
THENCE West, 850.03 feet;
THENCE N 00 04'33" E, 20 feet;
THENCE East, 850.02 feet to the Place of Beginning and containing 0.39 acres
including any Right -of -Way.
TRACT 2
FIELD NOTES on a 1.190 acre Drainage Easement tract out of Section 20, Block
E-2, Lubbock County, Texas, further described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the West line of University Avenue from whence the
Northeast corner of the South Half (S/2) of Section 20, Block E-2, bears N 0° 03'
06" E 641.38 feet and East 40 feet;
THENCE S 00 03'06" E, 64 feet;

THENCE West, 8 10. 01 feet to a set 1/2" rod with cap marked RPLS 4460;
THENCE N 00 04- 33" E, 64 feet to a set 1/2" rod with cap marked RPLS 4460;
THENCE East, 809.99 feet to the point of beginning and containing 1.190 acres
including any Right -of -Way.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark
the official maps of the City of Lubbock to reflect said abandonment and closing,
showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the
remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock is hereby
authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance
as an alternative method provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
